Pegging Down
An effective way to increase flower production on roses by spreading the runners and fastening to the soil with wire loops.

Additional Information
Instead of pruning, pegging is a time consuming method but well worth the display. This is generally done in the fall. Basically you are training the plant horizontally. Lowering the apical shoot so that it is below the base of the branch, slows the movement of inhibiting hormones and so the side shoots develop and more flowers form.
