Peat/Peat Moss
The preserved and compressed remains of dead bog plants or moss, rich in nutrients and with a high water retention.

Additional Information
Commonly used as a soil amendment, peat tends to add to the acidity of the soil pH. It is free from weeds and disease organisms (people use this mixed with soil when planting shrubs like Boxwood, Azaleas & Rhododendron). Often known as peat moss because it is from sphagnum or sedge.
