Cell
The basic structural unit of an organism, a cell is the smallest membrane-bound biological unit capable of replication.

Cells can function independently as free-living microorganisms or can function cooperatively as a part of a tissue or organ. In plants, each cell comprises a watery mass of protoplasm, a controlling nucleus and other structures, bounded by a cellulose cell wall.
