Bedding Plant

Plants suitable for mass planting in beds for their quick colorful flowers or foliage--usually annuals. Also referred to as carpet bedding. Some commercial buildings or interstates have plantings done in a specific display. Example: garden beds in the shape of the word R E A D outside the main entrance of a public library.
